Duskstep Boots are netherite boots that give you a short step forward at the press of a key. They leave a trail of starlight where you dashed. The in-game text reads: "Leave a trace of starlight behind you. Wear, then sneak while grounded to dash. Cooldown: 8 seconds."
How to use#
- Wear the boots in the boots slot. Holding them is not enough.
- Stand on the ground and press Shift to sneak.
- You step about 2 blocks forward in the direction you are facing, flat along the ground.

If you press sneak during the cooldown you see "This ability is on cooldown for <time>."
When the dash does not work#
The dash is bounded by the world around you. It does nothing if:
- You are not standing on the ground, for example in the air, gliding, flying or riding a vehicle.
- You are frozen, or you are already moving fast sideways, for example from knockback. The boots will not cancel a knockback.
- A wall or block is in the way. The dash never carries you through blocks.
- You are in a safe zone, or in a place where items are not allowed to be used.
A blocked press does not use the cooldown.
How to get them#
Duskstep Boots are a rare reward that has been offered in limited-time lootboxes. Whether it can be found right now depends on the current lootbox rotation. See Crates.
The boots cannot be disenchanted or reset on a grindstone.
