The Overworld is where most of Lifesteal is played. It is a single huge world split behind the scenes into sections, so you can walk from one side to the other without a loading screen.
Size and layout#
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Width and length | 50,000 blocks each |
| Extent | X and Z from -25,000 to 25,000, centred on 0, 0 |
| Spawn section | The central 10,000 x 10,000 square, from -5,000 to 5,000 on both axes |
| Outer sections | Four, one per quadrant, each 25,000 x 25,000 blocks |
| Difficulty | Hard |
| Land claims | None. Lifesteal has no claim system. |
The spawn hub sits at the centre. Walking outward you leave the spawn square at 5,000 blocks and enter one of the four outer sections. Crossing between sections is automatic: you keep playing without a loading screen. See The Grid.
The edge of the world#
At X or Z of 25,000 (or -25,000) you cannot go further: "You have reached the edge of the world." You also cannot hurt other players, or be hurt, outside the border. See Safe Zones.
Building near section seams#
You cannot build, break blocks, empty buckets or use most blocks within 32 blocks of the line between two sections: "You can't build so close to the edge of a sector." Place your base further inland. Crops, liquids, fire and pistons are also stopped there.
Time and weather#
Day, night and weather are kept the same across all the outer sections of the Overworld. The spawn section keeps its own time and weather.
Exploring#
/rtpsends you to a random safe spot at least 5,500 blocks from the centre. See Random Teleport.- Mobs are as in vanilla on Hard difficulty.
- The Nether and End are reached by portal or
/rtp netherand/rtp end. See Portals. - Players can attack each other everywhere outside safe zones. Hide your base: other players can raid it.
Events in the Overworld#
Envoys drop here every 30 minutes and four of the five KOTH capture points are in the Overworld. See Envoys and KOTH.
