Portals move you between the Overworld, the Nether and the End. They work like vanilla portals, but the Lifesteal dimensions are separate worlds, so the destination is worked out for you.
Portal destinations#
| From | Portal | To | Where you arrive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overworld | Nether portal | Nether | Your position divided by 8 |
| Nether | Nether portal | Overworld | Your position multiplied by 8 |
| Overworld | End portal | End | X 0, Y 100, Z 0 |
| End | End exit portal | Overworld | Your respawn location |
Nether portals#
- Build and light an obsidian portal in either dimension.
- Your X and Z are scaled: from the Overworld they are divided by 8, from the Nether multiplied by 8.
- The game finds a safe place near the target, within 20 blocks sideways and 80 blocks up and down, and sends you there.
The Overworld ends at 25,000 blocks from the centre, which is 3,125 blocks in Nether terms. A Nether portal further than about 3,125 blocks from the centre leads to a spot beyond the Overworld's edge, so stay inside that distance if you want to use portals to come back.
End portals#
- Entering the End portal in the Overworld always puts you at X 0, Y 100, Z 0 in the End, then finds a safe spot there.
- The End exit portal sends you to your respawn location.
- The portal has a 5 second cooldown, so you will not bounce back and forth.
