Eclipse Buckler is a shield that rewards good blocking. The in-game text reads: "Turn a well-timed block into a counter. Block a melee hit, then strike that attacker within 1.2 seconds for extra knockback. Block cooldown: 2 seconds."
How it works#
- Raise the buckler to block, as with any shield.
- A player hits you with a direct melee attack and the shield blocks it. This arms a charge against that one attacker.
- Within 1.2 seconds, hit that same attacker with a melee attack while holding the buckler in either hand.
- Your hit pushes them back with an extra pulse of knockback. The charge is used up.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Charge window | 1.2 seconds from the block |
| Block cooldown | 2 seconds before another block can arm a charge |
| Targets | The one player whose hit you blocked |
| Charges at a time | 1 |
What does not count#
- Arrows, tridents, potions, explosions and other non-melee damage do not arm the buckler. Only a direct melee hit from a player that the shield actually blocks does.
- Merely holding the shield, or taking a hit that bypasses the block, does not arm it.
- The pulse does not work on your allies, and it does not work where PvP is switched off.
- A target who is already moving very fast is not pushed further, so the pulse never launches players.
How to get it#
Eclipse Buckler is a rare reward that has been offered in limited-time lootboxes. Whether it can be found right now depends on the current lootbox rotation. See Crates.
The buckler cannot be disenchanted or reset on a grindstone.
