Creating a Clan

How to found a clan on Lifesteal, which names are allowed, and what to set up first.

Creating a clan takes one command and costs nothing. The player who runs it becomes the clan's Leader and its first member.

Create a clan#

Run /clan create <name>. If the name is accepted you see "Created the clan {name}." and you can start inviting players straight away.

You can only be in one clan at a time. If you are already a member of a clan you must leave it first (see Clan Members); otherwise the game answers "The player is already a member of another guild."

Clan name rules#

RuleValue
Length3 to 12 characters
CharactersLetters (A-Z, a-z) and numbers (0-9) only
Spaces and symbolsNot allowed
ProfanityNames that trip the chat filter are refused
UniquenessEvery clan name is unique

The error messages you can get when naming a clan are:

MessageMeaning
Invalid clan name. It must be between 3 and 12 characters, and can only contain letters and numbers. The name is too short, too long, uses other characters, or was filtered.
That clan name is already taken.Another clan already uses that name.

Renaming a clan#

The Leader can rename the clan at any time with /clan rename <name>. The same name rules apply, and every member sees "The clan has been renamed to {name}." You cannot rename a clan to the name it already has, because the game treats its own name as taken.

What to do next#

  1. Check your limits with /clan info. The footer shows the Member Limit, Ally Limit and Warp Limit. Those limits come from the ranks of your members, so a clan that wants more room has to recruit members with the right ranks. See Clan Roles and Permissions.
  2. Invite players with /clan invite <player>. See Clan Members.
  3. Promote a trusted member to Co-Leader so they can invite, kick, set warps and manage allies. See Clan Roles and Permissions.
  4. Set a base warp with /clan setwarp <name> once your clan's warp limit is above zero. See Clan Warps.
  5. Decide whether your members want friendly fire on or off. It is off by default. See Clan Menu and Friendly Fire.
