Clan roles decide who may invite players, set warps, manage alliances and rename the clan. A Lifesteal clan has three roles, ordered from lowest to highest: Member, Co-Leader and Leader. The permissions attached to each role are the same for every clan and cannot be changed with a command.
The roles#
| Role | How you get it | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Accept a clan invite | Everyone starts here. |
| Co-Leader | The Leader promotes you with /clan promote <player> | Handles recruiting, warps, allies and the rally marker. |
| Leader | You create the clan, or the previous Leader transfers it to you with /clan transfer <player> | Exactly one per clan. The Leader cannot leave or be demoted. |
Permission matrix#
| Action | Member | Co-Leader | Leader |
|---|---|---|---|
Use clan warps (/clan warp <name>) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Clan chat, ally chat, /clan menu, friendly fire toggle | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Look up clans (info, list, top, strikes) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Invite players and cancel invites | No | Yes | Yes |
| Kick members | No | Yes | Yes |
| Set and delete clan warps | No | Yes | Yes |
| Request, accept, reject and cancel alliances | No | Yes | Yes |
| Remove an alliance | No | Yes | Yes |
Set the rally marker (/clan rally) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Promote and demote members | No | No | Yes |
Rename the clan (/clan rename <name>) | No | No | Yes |
| Transfer ownership | No | No | Yes |
| Disband the clan | No | No | Yes |
A few details that the matrix does not show:
- A Co-Leader is allowed to run promote and demote in principle, but the rules only let you change the role of someone who ranks below you, and only up to a role below your own. A Co-Leader therefore cannot promote a Member to Co-Leader or demote another Co-Leader, so in practice the Leader makes every role change.
- A Leader is never kicked and never leaves, so the clan always has one owner. See Clan Members for the transfer and disband steps.
- You always get "You do not have permission to perform this action." when your role is too low for a command.
Limits that come from ranks#
Three limits are not tied to the clan itself. Each is read from the ranks of every member of the clan, and the clan uses the highest value that any single member brings:
| Limit | What it controls | Where to see it |
|---|---|---|
| Member Limit | How many players the clan can hold, counting the Leader | /clan info footer and the Clan Information item in the /clan menu |
| Ally Limit | How many clans you can be allied with at once | Same places |
| Warp Limit | How many clan warps the clan can have | Same places |
Because the best rank in the clan counts, recruiting one member with a strong rank lifts the limit for everybody. When a limit is reached the game answers "The clan has reached its member limit.", "You have reached the alliance limit." or "You have reached the warp limit."
The in-game rank menus list the clan benefits that each rank adds:
| Rank | Clan members | Clan warps |
|---|---|---|
| Lord | Not listed | Not listed |
| Overlord | Not listed | 2 |
| Immortal | Not listed | 2 |
| Wraith | Not listed | 3 |
| Reaper | 12 | 3 |
| Netherite | 12 | 3 |
The rank menus do not mention ally limits. Use /clan info to read the exact numbers that apply to your clan right now.
Friendly fire is a personal setting#
Friendly fire is not a role permission. Every member switches their own setting in the /clan menu or with /clan friendlyfire. See Clan Menu and Friendly Fire.
