Elimination

Reaching 0 hearts kicks you from Lifesteal and bans you for a rank-based time, then resets your hearts to 10 when you return.

Elimination is what happens when you run out of hearts. You are kicked from the server and cannot rejoin Lifesteal until your ban ends. The ban is often called the death ban.

What happens#

  1. A death takes your last heart, leaving you with 0.
  2. Your hearts are reset to 10.
  3. You are kicked with the message "You are banned for running out of hearts!" and the time left.
  4. Your saved logout location is cleared.

The items you were carrying drop where you died, as in any other death.

Ban length#

Without a rank the ban is 1 day. Lifesteal ranks shorten it. If you hold more than one rank, your shortest ban applies.

RankDeath ban
No rank1 day
Heart7 hours
King6 hours
Emperor5 hours
Lord4 hours
Overlord2 hours
Immortal1 hour
Wraith30 minutes
Reaper30 minutes
Netherite30 minutes

Ranks and their other perks are listed on Lifesteal Ranks and Store and Rank Perks.

While you are banned#

  • Trying to join Lifesteal shows the same message with the time you have left.
  • The ban only applies to Lifesteal.
  • Players have no item or command that ends a death ban early. The ban ends when its timer runs out.

Coming back#

When the timer ends, join again as normal.

  • You start with 10 hearts, the same as a new player.
  • Your prestige level is not reset, so your maximum hearts stay at 25 plus your prestige. See Prestige.
  • Items you dropped when you were eliminated are not given back.

Eliminated while offline#

If you log out in combat and your combat logger is killed, you lose 1 heart. If that takes you to 0, the elimination is applied the next time you log in: you are kicked and banned immediately, and your hearts reset to 10. See Combat Tag.
