Survival map: hide your claims, unclaim from the map, and more
New Online Map Blur hides what is built in your claims on the map. Also: unclaim from the map, safer map teleports, Walk view fixes, and a layout that works on phones.
The Survival map has had a round of updates. You can now hide what is built in your claims from the online map, unclaim your own chunks without leaving the map, and teleport from the map with clearer rules. Walk view has been fixed, and the map layout works on phones and tablets.
- Hide what is built in your claims with the new Online Map Blur setting. It is off by default.
- Unclaim your own chunks from the map, with a confirm step.
- The map will not teleport you into a claim you cannot enter. Homes like that are marked "Inside a claim".
- Walk view no longer shows flat terrain slabs or lines across the screen.
- The map works on phones and tablets, with an on-screen stick for touch screens.
Online Map Blur
Blur hides what is built in a claim on the online map. A hidden chunk shows as a plain frosted block with one height and one colour, in every view. It is off by default.
Set it for one claim or for all your claims at once:
- In game, in claim settings and in global claim settings.
- On the website, in the Your claims panel and in the chunk popover. Choose Use global, On or Off.
Only the owner of a claim can change its blur. Town chunks follow the town's settings, which are changed in game.
It takes a few minutes to apply. Images viewed earlier may stay in your browser cache for a while.
Unclaiming from the map
Click one of your own chunks on the map and confirm the step to unclaim it. Town chunks are still managed in game.
Teleporting from the map
- Teleporting to a home from the map requires you to be online in Survival and not in combat. If the map refuses, it tells you why.
- The map will not land you inside a claim you cannot enter. Owners, trusted guests and town members can still go to their own claims. The homes list marks the homes that are inside a claim you cannot enter as "Inside a claim".
Walk view
- Terrain near you no longer shows as flat slabs, and the lines across the screen are gone.
- Claim outlines show as short fences at ground level.
Phones and tablets
- Panels become sheets, settings scroll, and controls no longer overlap.
- On touch screens, Walk and Free have an on-screen stick with jump, rise and sink buttons.
